The plain-language summary shown inside the app on first launch.
ExpensO - The Expense Organiser keeps your money data on your device, in an encrypted
database. There is no ExpensO account and no ExpensO server — the developer
never sees your entries.
What this means
- Private by default. Nothing you enter leaves your device unless you turn on
a sync feature yourself. Your transactions, balances and attachments are never
sent to any advertising or analytics system.
- The free version is ad-supported. ExpensO shows ads through Google
AdMob, and only after you answer the Google consent prompt (and, on iOS, the
Apple tracking prompt). For ads, Google may use an advertising ID, your IP
address (for a rough city-level location) and ad-interaction data — never your
financial data. You can change these choices any time in Settings → "Ad
privacy choices".
- One-time "ExpensO Full" removes every ad. When you buy it, the ad software
is never started — no ad requests, no advertising ID, nothing.
- No first-party tracking. ExpensO itself has no analytics, no telemetry and
no crash-reporting for the developer.
- You hold the keys. The encryption keys live only in your device's secure
hardware. If you erase the app or lose the device, your data cannot be
recovered by anyone — keep your own backups (Export, or encrypted sync to
your own Google Drive).
- Not financial advice. ExpensO shows you what you enter. It does not advise
you on money decisions.
Who can receive data

Permissions ExpensO may ask for

Your choices
- Buy ExpensO Full to remove all ads.
- Change ad consent in Settings → "Ad privacy choices"; on iOS also in the
system Tracking settings. Reset the advertising ID in your device settings.
- Turn sync and exchange rates on or off any time in Settings.
- Export everything as JSON + CSV from Settings.
- Erase everything (data + keys) from Settings.
